I
In that burning gaze of awe
In recognition a soul will know
That in heaven I was forged
To the very light of my core.
II
‘Cause I come from a place so far
That memory falters and breaks
Don’t deceive me, tell me now
Have you seen its wonders and flames?
III
A million stars afloat
Myriads of suns ablaze
Bodies as silk in charm
Through life slipping away
IV
Such beauty does my heart recall
Million lives won’t light up my face
Hope reaches beginnings, another end
And makes it through time, through space
V
In these lonesome mortal hours,
I beseech you, old embrace,
For golden light to return
To my skin, in ancient grace.
VI
Remind me that beauty is all
And us, we’re diamonds still
Though clouded with thin dust
Our souls bear flames to sing.
VII
Our eyes filled with tears,
To dark heavens stare
Stars, stages will roam
‘till in sight is our home
VIII
Speak to me of our purpose:
Our light to this Earth devote.
And there lying will be hope
Of someday, somehow To Return.
